週一的香港，人潮似乎比週末稍微退去一些。原以為可以按著計畫走，沒想到這一天卻成了整趟旅程裡最超出計劃的一天。點錯了菜、走錯了路、錯過了怡和午炮，在太平山頂遇上難得的纜車故障。那種隨時應變的狀態是每每在旅行中的最真實地場景。
Monday in Hong Kong, and the crowds had thinned slightly from the weekend. We thought the day might actually go to plan. It didn't. Wrong order at breakfast, wrong turn in a tunnel, a cannon heard but not seen, and a cable car that broke down on the way back from the Peak. The most honest travel days are usually the ones that go sideways.

拖著累積四天三夜日走兩萬步的沉重步伐，直奔中環，第一站是傳說中的絲襪奶茶。
原本 Jack 信誓旦旦、朗朗地要點那脆口的「奶油豬仔包」，結果被密密麻麻的菜單迷惑，點成了「金牌豬扒包」。
端上桌時，我們互看了一下，這根本就是漢堡吧？
但一口咬下，醃漬入味的豬扒配上鬆軟的麵包，竟是意外的美味。

Four days in, twenty thousand steps a day stored in the legs. We headed straight to Central for silk stocking milk tea at Lan Fong Yuen.
Jack had decided, firmly and out loud, that he wanted the butter pork bun. He ordered the pork chop bun instead, confused by the dense menu. It arrived looking more or less like a burger. We looked at each other. Then Jack took a bite. Marinated pork, soft bread, genuinely good. The best outcomes in travel are often the ones you didn't plan for.

城市的慢板：叮叮車
在中環參訪中西合併的天主教教堂與圓形天橋後，我們跳上了舒適的叮叮車，暫時告別走路的疲憊。
這是香港最適合放空的移動方式，坐在上層，聽著電車發出「叮—叮—」的聲響，看著窗外流動的街景，時間彷彿被拉長了。

After the Catholic cathedral and the circular overpass in Central, we boarded the ding ding tram and let our feet rest for a while.
The tram is Hong Kong's most forgiving way to move through the city. Upper deck, window seat, the familiar two-note bell every few blocks, the street life scrolling past at a pace the city almost never runs at otherwise. Time stretches out a little. We were heading to Causeway Bay to see the Noonday Gun.

What happened instead: a underground passage that turned out to be more complicated than it looked on the map. We were still navigating it when the bang came from somewhere above us. Clean, loud, unmistakable. The Noonday Gun had fired. We were underground.
By the time we surfaced and found the emplacement, the staff had packed up and left. We stood next to an empty cannon. This is the kind of thing that only happens when you're almost there.

文化小觀察：1904 年開始營運叮叮車，是香港少數仍保留至今的雙層電車，也是港島最具代表性的城市風景之一。

來到鵝頸橋下，空氣中瀰漫著燒紙錢的焦味與拖鞋拍打磚塊的「啪、啪」聲。
Jack 一開始還在猶豫不決，突然一位眼神犀利的阿婆主動出擊：「靚仔，打小人嗎？」
那種不容拒絕的氣場，直接把他吸了過去。「打小人五十，全套兩百。」
摸了摸口袋，身上港幣所剩無幾的 Jack，尷尬地詢問「半套一百」的方案。
阿婆沒有多說一句話，只是熟練地舉起拖鞋，一下一下拍打著紙上的小人。
那節奏明快、嘴裡唸唸有詞的儀式，在這座現代化的高架橋下，顯得格外迷幻。

Da siu yan, sometimes translated as "villain hitting," is a Cantonese folk ritual with roots in ancient beliefs about driving away misfortune. Practitioners, usually elderly women, beat a paper effigy of one's enemies or sources of bad luck with a slipper while reciting incantations. The ritual peaks during Jingzhe, the third solar term, but practitioners work year-round under this flyover in Causeway Bay.

換來了店員一記標準的白眼，最後只吃到一碗出前一丁，
這就是香港茶餐廳的直率，香港人的直接，從來不是針對誰，而是一種生活效率。

We tried to eat afterwards at Wah Sing nearby. Jack ordered twice. First item: sold out. Second item: wrong time of day. The staff member conveyed both of these facts with a single look. We ended up with Nissin Demae Ramen (a Japanese instant noodle brand that became a staple of Hong Kong cha chaan teng culture). Hong Kong directness is never personal. It's just efficiency, applied to everything including telling you no.
The Peak｜Sunset, a Breakdown & Getting Down Anyway

傍晚，我們再次來到太平山。這一次，不是為了百萬夜景，而是想補上前幾天沒能好好欣賞的日落。
幸好先買了 KKday 的票，省去了現場購票的時間，但真正的考驗才正要開始。
登上凌霄閣後，我們在人群縫隙間，看著夕陽慢慢染黃維多利亞港，高樓玻璃帷幕反射著最後一道金光。
景色依舊動人，只是這次沒有停留太久，我們便準備下山。
幸好先買了 KKday 的票，省去了現場購票的時間，但真正的考驗才正要開始。
登上凌霄閣後，我們在人群縫隙間，看著夕陽慢慢染黃維多利亞港，高樓玻璃帷幕反射著最後一道金光。

We came back to the Peak that evening, not for the night view this time, but for the sunset we hadn't properly caught on the earlier visit. Pre-purchased KKday tickets helped with the entry. The real test came after.
At the top, we found gaps in the crowd and watched the sun go down over Victoria Harbour, the last light catching the glass towers one by one. Still worth it. We didn't stay long before joining the queue to go back down.

沒有人知道還要等多久，只能站在原地，看著工作人員來回奔走，耳邊不時傳來金屬敲擊聲與對講機的呼叫聲。 最讓人耐人尋味的是，纜車似乎還沒完全修復，工作人員便重新開放乘車。
我們就在維修人員的敲打聲中緩緩下山，心裡默默希望它能順順利利把我們送回山腳下就好。
那一刻，比起百萬夜景，我反而更記得那些在山上一起乾等的旅客，與不卑不亢、夜間還要加班的維修人員。

No timeline given. Staff moving in both directions, radio calls, the occasional sound of something being struck with metal. Nobody knew how long. We stood where we were and waited.
What made it memorable was that the tram started running again before the repairs were clearly finished. We descended slowly, listening to the maintenance crew still working somewhere nearby, quietly hoping the thing would hold together long enough to reach the bottom. It did.
Looking back, I remember the other passengers on that platform more than I remember the view. And the maintenance crew, still at it late into the evening, without any particular fuss.

也會突然發現，當下真正想要的，只是趕快回到飯店，沖個熱水澡，好好躺下來休息。
回到市區，我們走進熟悉的便利商店，買了一杯凍檸茶，再配上魚蛋、燒賣等幾樣熱食。 沒有名店光環，沒有排隊美食。
只是坐在路邊，一口魚蛋、一口凍檸茶，吹著晚上的微風，細細品嚐慢慢放鬆。
真正療癒人的，往往並不是那些必須打卡朝聖的景點，而是這些看似平凡不起眼、卻剛剛好能彌補疲憊心靈的時刻。

第四天結束時，我突然發現，真正留在腦海裡的，不是百萬夜景。而是點錯的豬扒包、沒有看到的午炮、橋下阿婆的拖鞋聲，以及纜車故障時，那群一起等待的人。旅行從來不是計畫完成了多少，而是那些偏離計畫的瞬間，最後變成了回憶本身。
By the end of day four, what stayed wasn't the view from the Peak. It was the pork chop bun we didn't mean to order. The cannon we heard from underground. The rhythmic strike of a slipper on brick under a flyover, and a woman's voice reciting words older than the city around her. And a platform full of strangers, waiting together for a tram that wasn't quite fixed yet. Travel isn't about how much of the plan you complete. It's about what the detours leave behind.
