Otaru's most iconic landmark is the canal, and it earns that title easily. During the day, old warehouse buildings reflect off the water in a way that feels quietly cinematic. At night, the gas lamps flicker on and the whole stretch turns into a slow, romantic walk. What was once a busy cargo hub is now the most photographed spot in the city, and honestly, it deserves every shot.
小提醒：想拍到最佳角度，可以到「中央橋」附近，既能看見倉庫群，也能捕捉到遊船劃過的身影。
Quick tip: head to Chuo Bridge for the best angle. You get the full warehouse view, and if you're lucky, a boat drifting through the frame.

・這支冰淇淋堪稱「挑戰款」，八層口味疊在一起，從抹茶到巧克力一次滿足。

・Personal take: the main Otaru store has the best atmosphere of any branch.

・Eight flavors stacked into one cone, from matcha down to chocolate. It looks like a challenge and kind of is.
・Watching tourists walk around trying to eat it without it toppling over is half the entertainment.

・Nothing fancy, but that's exactly the point. Jack spent most of the day working through every street snack he could find, fully committed to what I can only describe as dessert pilgrimage mode.

Hidden Gem：水天宮的俯瞰視角
很多人逛完運河與甜點就回程，但小樽還有一個值得走的小秘密：水天宮。
這座神社不大，但位置在高處，可以從鳥瞰的角度俯視整個小樽市區與港口。相比觀光客熙來攘往的運河，這裡安靜、開闊，特別適合在夕陽時分上來坐坐。

Most people wrap up at the canal and head back, but there's one more stop worth the detour. Suitengu Shrine sits up on a hill, small and easy to miss, but from up there you get a full bird's-eye view of the city and the harbor below. Compared to the busy canal, it's calm and open, the kind of place that's best visited just before sunset when the light goes soft and there's almost no one around.

小樽的旅行節奏
小樽不是一個需要急著攻略的城市。這裡的樂趣在於邊走邊吃，偶爾停下腳步看玻璃藝品，或是抬頭仰望歐風建築。它既懷舊，又帶著甜甜的氣味，讓人覺得旅行的步調不需要趕路，而是可以一口蛋糕、一張照片，慢慢收藏。
Otaru isn't a city you need to rush through. The fun is in the in-between moments: eating while walking, pausing to look at glasswork in a shop window, tilting your head back at a European-style building you almost walked past. It's nostalgic and a little sweet, the kind of place that reminds you that the best trips aren't the ones where you check everything off, but the ones where you slow down enough to actually taste them.
